Celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Millennium Place Barsha Heights Hotel takes initiative to spread awareness of the disease among women in Dubai.
Held in partnership with the non-profit healthcare organisation, Al Jalila Foundation, Millennium Place Barsha Heights Hotel commences activities from this week with a donation to the organisation along with lighting the building in pink throughout the month, offering free mammograms for all employees, and a free workshop for the public by two exceptional speakers.
On 16th October from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM, the hotel’s Twenty9 Café and Lounge will host a free-of-charge workshop to help recognise the importance of protecting one’s health and using appropriate measures to overcome the disease. Speaking to the guests will be Dr. Shilpa Dudhanifrom The Canadian Specialist Hospital, who specialises in General Practice and Gehan Taha who is a cancer survivor. Both, Dr. Dudhani and Gehanareeager to share their knowledge and experience to help educate others on the importance of timely screenings to increase early detection of the disease. Post-workshop, guests can discuss their thoughts and meet other women over a complimentary afternoon tea experience that serves a selection of scrumptious canapés, along with some delicious hot and cool beverages.
Additionally, with one in every eight women developing breast cancer over the course of her lifetime, the four-star hotel will also operate free mammogram sessions to screen tests for breast cancer for the staff at Millennium Place Barsha Heights Hotel.

Taking place annually every October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month aims to raise awareness across the world, helping to increase knowledge of the disease, inform of its early detection signs, and educate people about the treatment and best care for the disease.
