Sofitel Dubai Downtown, the timeless French hotel, is partaking in the highly-anticipated EXPO 2020 as the main caterer for the French Pavilion, as part of the partnership between Accor and COFREX, showcasing a selection of French delicacies.

Introducing Executive Chefs Martin Becquart and Erwan Stadler
Executive Chefs, Martin Becquart and Erwan Stadler, have joined Sofitel Dubai Downtown’s Food & Beverage team as they spearhead the culinary operations at the French Pavilion. The highly successful chefs bring decades of experience to the table; having crafted distinct culinary experiences around the world. Such global understanding of gourmet flavors places them in the ideal position to represent Sofitel Dubai Downtown and Accor at the French Pavilion during EXPO 2020.
Chef Martin’s career has seen him make his mark in global culinary hot spots from New York, USA and Saigon, Vietnam to Colombo, Sri Lanka and Penang, Malaysia.
Chef Erwan’s profile tells the story of an equally commendable career with renowned brands including the Jumeirah Group, Millennium, Hilton, and Movenpick Grand Al Bustan peppering his portfolio.
Chefs Martin and Erwan will be executing a masterfully curated menu by six celebrity chefs including Chef Julien Mercier, Chef Stephan Remon, Chef Dominique Frérard, Chef Martin Simolka, Chef Matthieu Klein, and Chef Patrick Barbin. The menus will take visitors on a culinary journey through Bourgogne, the French Riviera, Corsica, Brittany, Normandy, Alsace, Southwest Bordeaux, and of course the capital city of Paris.
The French Pavilion will also see Jessica Préalpato, celebrated as the World’s Best Pastry Chef in 2019, place her signature new creation “Le Gustave” in the spotlight. Inspired by her concept of natural desserts – desseralité – Le Gustave is a fusion of French and Middle Eastern cuisine.
