Standing as one of Dubai’s most iconic properties, Park Hyatt Dubai has long been known to transport guests away from the buzzing city and into the gardens of serenity, where everyone is offered the type of tranquillity that cannot be found anywhere else. Bringing the city something else to look forward to, Park Hyatt Dubai is putting art in the forefront as they announce the debut of Art in the Park, a project that will colour the property with unique creations from Dubai-based artist, Hakim Idriss’ exhibition named Legacy Beats.
Launching from the 1st of November, Art in the Park invites guests to discover the world of artist Hakim Idriss, also known as Socrome, who tells a story of richness through his artwork as he transforms the lobby lounge into a gallery, turning blank canvases into a stunning masterpieces before the eyes of the guests until the 31st of January.
The exhibition draws inspiration from his Franco-Comorian heritage, being born in the Comoros and raised in Paris, while also delving into the culture of United Arab Emirates, infusing his work with a deep cultural narrative that spans continents. Through this exhibition, Idriss seeks to reinterpret Emirati scenes and symbols by playing on striking visual contrasts and unique combinations in front of guests with the use of his unique art style rooted in graffiti and the unique method of painting with a palette knife, an artform that is directly influenced by his deep adoration for calligraphy.
At Art in the Park, guests will be taken on a journey through Idriss’s life and artistic evolution where they’ll have the chance to witness his creativity in action and appreciate the rich storytelling embedded in his artwork while also taking inspiration from Park Hyatt Dubai, as his art fills the hotel with vibrant colours and meaning.
Taking the exhibition to the next level, Park Hyatt Dubai will also collaborate with Idriss on a permanent mural, to be painted on one of the iconic NOÉPE’s walls, ensuring an addition of Hakim’s visual storytelling will forever be a part of the hotel’s long-standing legacy.
Using Park Hyatt Dubai as a live painting studio, Socrome’s art will not only offer a visual feast but also weave together the diverse influences of his life and journey through the Emirates. The exhibition seeks to open new paths of interpretation and dialogue, while respecting the heritage of his environment, making his art a story of cultural confluence.
