Accor, the world’s leading travel and hospitality group, is pleased to announce the official opening of Grand Plaza Mövenpick Media City.
The newest addition to the buzzing hub that is Media and Internet City is the only five-star hotel in the area and the first within the upcoming Innovation Hub. The property serves both professional and lifestyle needs of guests looking for connectivity and convenience, or to explore the vibrant urban city with its proximity to Sheikh Zayed Road, Nakheel and Internet City metro stations as well as Mall of the Emirates and the Palm Jumeirah.
Standing tall just off Sheikh Zayed Road, the property offers a variety of attributes, be it one of the five dining venues, lounging by the swimming pool, getting acquainted with the local culture or enhancing budding commercial prospects.
Rooms:
Offering guests 235 spacious rooms and suites sized from 46 sqm up to 94 sqm, with categories including: Superior King and Twin, Executive King and Twin, as well as Executive and Family Suites. Every room utilises a neutral colour palette to enhance the relaxing appeal, set against breath-taking views of the Palm Jumeirah and the Arabian Gulf. Constant connectivity is achieved through free WiFi throughout.
Meetings and Events Spaces:
The hotel offers a fully equipped Convention Centre, inclusive of a 600sqm ballroom, with a capacity of up to 650 guests. Ideal for meetings, weddings and celebrations, nine flexible meeting rooms are aptly named after the winds of the world: Mistral, Bise, Khamseen and Shamal, inspired by the iconic chandelier The Swoop. All equipped with state of the art audio-visual technology, complimentary WiFi and lighting equipment.
Design:
From high ceilings and large windows, bathing the chic interiors in rich natural light, to the attention to detail paid to the meeting spaces and leisure venues, the property emanates a sense of elegance presented in a modern setting.
The star feature of the property is The Swoop – the iconic chandelier in the atrium, acting as a centrepiece, spiralling downwards towards the entrance, from the ceiling. The artistic masterpiece was specially designed by Katerina Handlova, inspired by the flight of a bird, which seems almost tangible given its end is suspended at 2.3 meters above ground at the lobby level. This exceptional piece boasts 3,500 hand-blown crystals.
Dining:
Grand Plaza Mövenpick Media City offers guests a choice of five lifestyle driven venues, inclusive of restaurants, lounges and bars, each with seamless surroundings, offering international cuisines and entertainment.
TWENTY THREE Rooftop Bar, steals the show as Media City’s new hotspot overlooking the city’s iconic skyline, combining panoramic urban views with light bites and classic cocktails. The theme of “23” is tangible throughout – 23 different twisted cocktails, 23 tastes, 23 brews and 23 grapes, in line with the venue’s aim to turn convention on its head.
The Grand Lounge, located under the majestic chandelier, serves up creatively crafted delicacies, perfect for an afternoon high tea.
A ‘neighbourhood deli’ feel is to be enjoyed at Slice, through its relaxed ambience, with a touch of panache added, in the form of unique offerings such as a ramen station and flammkuchen – a tarte flambee from the northeast of France and South-west Germany.
The venue also offers delivery to the local area, bringing new offerings for lunch and dinner in the popular media hub.
Bytes is a relaxed local eatery, spanning across indoor, outdoor and swimming pool spaces, where guests can unwind and revitalize over healthy dining options, refreshing beverages and picturesque views.
Opening soon, the hotel is also home to modern European escape Verve Bar & Brasserie, under the dynamic guidance of multi award-winning chefs, Nick and Scott.
Leisure Offerings:
The property also places importance on creating a well-rounded holistic experience for its guests, with an indulgent health club comprising an outdoor swimming pool, gymnasium, beauty salon, sauna and steam rooms. The Spa by SensAsia, provides tailored and expertly delivered body treatments stemming from Balinese grace, Japanese elegance and Thai tradition.
