COYA Dubai is thrilled to collaborate with Barro Negro Athens on another unmissable edition of Amigos de COYA, the brand’s revolutionary guest bartending event.
Taking place on Wednesday, July 26th at luxury ultra-lounge chanca by COYA, Amigos de COYA Vol, 19 will feature an exclusive appearance from Stelios Papadopoulos, co-owner of the World 50 Best Bar – Barro Negro in Athens.
A world-renowned bartender and an ambassador for the prestigious World 50 Best Bar ranking series, Stelios will be treating guests at chanca to an array of his most innovative Mexican tequila and mezcal–based cocktail recipes, including classic Margaritas and Tommy’s served with a creative and unique twist.
Stelios is proud to be nominated as the first Non-Mexican Tequila Expert in the world by the National Chamber of Tequila Industry, and he is a certified “Tequila Expert & Expert Master Catador” by the Academia Mexicana del Tequila, A.C.
Known as the first ‘tequilaria’ in Athens, the edgy and characterful Barro Negro is one of the Greek capital’s most iconic haunts. The long-lasting collaboration between COYA Dubai and Barro Negro began in July 2022, when Stelios visited the UAE to co-host the Peruvian brand’s unmissable last party of the season. COYA Dubai Manager Samy Rathnayake and Head Bartender Andreas Maloutas then visited Barro Negro when they took Amigos de COYA overseas for the very first time in May 2023, travelling to World’s 50 Best Bar venues such as Barro Negro, Moebius in Milan and more.
Amigos de COYA Volume 19 in collaboration with Barro Negro will take place on Wednesday, July 26 at chanca by COYA from 8pm onwards.
