This July, ME Dubai, the only hotel globally designed by the late Zaha Hadid, has transformed into an oasis of art. With an unwavering dedication to continuously fostering cultural exchange and highlighting the region’s rich art ecosystem, guests can discover eye-grabbing and thought-provoking art displayson three levels of thehotel.
As guests wander through the futuristic lobby, they will find select artworks from visual artistMano González’s, also known as ChefBurger, captivating “Journey Through the Arts: From Tokyo to Paris” exhibition. With the entire collection on display in the hotel’s third-floor atrium, visitors can marvel at the works, which offera unique opportunity to experience the convergence of diverse cultures through compelling portraits, French masterpieces, and a profound reverence for nature. Also available is his newest collection of work, “TreesArt to the World,”, featuring paintings that capture the delicate beauty and transient nature of trees. Proceeds from the sale of these paintings will support ImpactHero, a start-up dedicated to tackling some of the world’s most pressing environmental and social issues by planting trees in critically needed reforestation areas in the Global South.
As guests explore the first floor, art enthusiasts alike will find the fascinating works of fashion illustrator and artist Alena Lavdovskaya. Departing from her staple and well-known works on A3 and glossy magazine formats, Lavdovskaya transitions into more introspective territory with larger-scale artworks on paper. Her exhibition, titled “Fashion Art: From Documentary to Abstract”, draws inspiration from her personal experiences as a fashion illustrator and sees her embark on a creative journey to redefine and discover a new artistic language of expression.
On the next floor up, dynamic duo Elena Butko and Jasbir Saggu have adorned ME Dubai’s walls with their extraordinary artwork. The masterful works of Elena Butko paint vivid images where vibrant, raw emotions intertwine with introspection, urging her audience to contemplate the complexities of existence itself. As guests explore, they will witness a captivating juxtaposition with the works of Jasbir Saggu, where he invites every spectator to traverse the multidimensional landscapes of his imagination. His pieces mesmerise with fluid gestures and dynamic compositions, as every piece explores the different ways in which light and shadow dance in harmony.
