Traditionally celebrated in Argentina on 9th July, the country’s declaration of independence in 1816 at Tucamán, modern day fiestas take place across the country – bringing people together in an energy-filled blur of music and feasting. Bringing that Latin American party spirit to Dubai, Hotel Cartagena have created a three course feast to make an Argentine weep with matching wines from the fertile wine country in Mendoza.
Appealing to everyone from faithful Hotel Cartagena fans to food-loving explorers keen to delve into the rich traditions of Argentine dining, dishes include the best homemade empanadas in town matched with a refreshing Sauvignon Blanc, locro criollo or traditional Andean squash stew paired with a majestic Malbec from Mendoza and a rich dulce de leche fondant paired with Torrontés, an indigenous white grape from Argentina.
With the return of Hotel Cartagena’s famous carnival style dancers lighting up the stage with more feathers, sequins and fabulous footwork than ever before, guests can round off the evening’s celebrations taking in the sparkling show framed by breathtaking 72ndfloor views.
The Día de la Independencia Wine Pairing Dinner will take place on7th July from 5.30pm – 11.30pmand is priced at AED 300 per person for three courses and wine pairings
