Jumeirah Group’s arts and lifestyle city destination, Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, has launched a new Artist in Residency programme that will enable talents to produce and exhibit works within the hotel. Running from 1st April to 15th June, the ongoing initiative will support international and regional artists in advancing their skills through dedicated spaces, enhanced visibility and endorsement, while providing an inspirational setting from which to create unique pieces of art and enjoy living in one of the most diverse cities in the world.
A global art destination with a flourishing creative scene, the programme encourages the resident artists to produce works that express the electric undercurrent of Dubai, while showcasing their own unique and individual style. The first artist to feature in this exciting new initiative is Sabrina Pohl, a German contemporary artist who is based across Vienna, Austria, and Stuttgart, Germany. Her work frames the concept and creation of space, and is focused primarily on shape-showing art that manifests itself in abstract paintings. She masters the representation of the elements, while weaving in influences from her time in Italy and Egypt. PreviouslyPohl’screations have been sponsored by Adobe Stock, and displayed during a designer collaboration at New YorkMen’s Fashion Week.
Pohl will start her residency at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel on 1st April, with her exhibition set to welcome visitors from 1st June until the end of her residency on 15th June. Her art will further complement the hotel’s contemporary appeal, underscored by tastefully designed interiors featuring exposed concrete walls, culturally inspired carpet designs, and rich colour palettes across its guest rooms and public spaces.
Andy Cuthbert, General Manager at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, commented, “Breath-taking spaces are one of the key pillars of the Jumeirah brand, beautifully brought to life at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel through our stunning collection of artworks, and now the new Artist in Residency programme. My travels across Egypt and Italy still reflect in my creations, therefore I am eager to explore the heritage and identity of Dubai and shine a light on this through my work during the Artist in Residency programme at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel”.
