Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates and Mall of the Emirates will be ringing in the holiday season once more with the Stollen Charity Cake Sale on December 6th from 10am – 10pm. The anticipated annual event, which gets bigger and better each year, will be celebrating its 14th year of selling record amounts of the festive German cake. In the spirit of the season, which is all about spreading goodwill, all proceeds from the sales will go to the trusted charity, Emirates Red Crescent.
Led by the popular Chef Sudqi Naddaf, Executive Chef at Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, the cake will be the result of weeks of preparation from a team of no less than 12 chefs who will be working day and night to bring to life the record-breaking sized stollen cake. With more than 60 volunteer team members supporting, this year will promise to be another successful edition of the charity cake sale.
When the sale begins, the team will have used more than 3,500 eggs, 730 kilograms of flour, 330 kilograms of raisins, 70 kilograms of Marzipan, 150 kilograms of lemon and 170 kilograms of zested orange. This traditional decadent cake will tantalise all the tastebuds, making the festive season as merry as it gets!
The smaller 60cm long stollen loaves can be bought whole for AED 100, half for AED 50 or just AED 5 for a mouth-watering slice. The cakes will also be sold at Aspen by Kempinski, the hotel’s luxury lobby lounge which oozes a magical festive atmosphere.
‘’The Stollen Cake sale is a vital slice of Kempinski’s charitable initiatives and an event we welcome with pleasure in partnership with Mall of the Emirates. Now well established as a staple event for the community during the festive season, the sale grows bigger and better each year thanks to our dedicated chefs, volunteers and wider community all doing their part. This year, we aim to continue the success set by previous editions by raising more than ever before for the highly respected Emirates Red Crescent. After all, nothing feels better than giving, especially during the festive season’’, said Slim Zaiane, General Manager, Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates.
Hussain Moosa at Majid Al Futtaim Properties – Director of Mall of the Emirates said, “We are eager to make this holiday season as special as can be for as many people as possible, and that extends even beyond guests of Mall of the Emirates. This festive event and the wonderful culinary creations of Kempinski Hotel’s talented chefs will not only help to bring a smile to the faces of our community but also comfort and support to those less fortunate than ourselves. In the fourteenth year of partnering with the Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates for this initiative, we are proud of the scale it has now reached and the people we’ve been able to help.”
