Pierre’s TT Of Intercontinental Dubai Festival City Honoured At Gault&Millau UAE 2022 GALA

InterContinental Dubai Festival City celebrated an iconic win, with Pierre’s TT being awarded the two-toque status and picking up the coveted ‘Restaurant Manager of the Year Award’ at the landmark Gault&Millau UAE 2022 Gala that was held at the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah recently.

This was the first edition of the highly anticipated, fine-dining food critique guide. Alongside awards for categories, its coveted restaurant ratings (or chef ‘Toques’ hats), were announced. Pierre’s TT was granted 14/20 points and 2 hats, achieving a two-toque status.

“It is an honour to be awarded at Gault&Millau UAE 2022 Gala this year. As a leading fine-dining concept, we have strived every step of the way to offer our guests extraordinary experiences, and this award is a testament of our enduring efforts.I would like to take this opportunity and extend my heartfelt gratitude to Chef de Cuisine, Mathieu Balbino and the entire team, without whom this wouldn’t have been possible. We are super excited to win these awards, and promise to take this to the next level,” said Thomas Schmelter, Area General Manager, InterContinental Hotels at Dubai Festival City.

“HervéLorit’scommitment and competence has always been appreciated by colleagues and we are so glad that this was also acknowledged by the expert judging panel of Gault&Millau this year. Constantly on the floor and orchestrating the show, Hervéhas endeavoured to keep the venue a constant hit. Through a combination of fair management, unwavering excellence standards and an unmatched work ethic, Hervéhas been a force of optimism for our flagship restaurant,” added Schmelter.

Gault&Millau’s revered rating system sees restaurants visited anonymously by professional food critics, and then ranked on a scale of 1 to 20, with points awarded based solely on the quality of the food. Any comments about service, price and a restaurant’s atmosphere, meanwhile, are considered separately. Based on a restaurant’s overall rating, restaurants are able to display one to five toques (or chef hats), reflecting their standing in Gault&Millau’s guides.

“It is a pleasure to win this title. Gault&Millau is a prestigious food review guide and being awarded at this event is a great achievement. For more than 50 years, Gault&Millau has been putting restaurants under a microscope, and it is an honour that we could cut through their investigation process.” said HervéLorit, Restaurant Manager at Pierre’s TT.

Gault&Millau UAE 2022 Gala, witnessed an exclusive event this year with the presence of top chefs, restaurateurs and F&B industry leaders. Its awards ceremony recognised talents across the industry and venues making a big impact in the past 12 months.
