To toast the August reopening of modern Middle Eastern restaurant Phoenicia at JA Oasis Beach Tower Dubai, menus by award-winning consulting chef, Greg Malouf have been expertly paired with a handcrafted selection of Arabesque cocktails in a Dubai-first exploration of modern mixology and mezze.
The new menu is designed as a Toast and Taste discovery of cocktails and cuisine, with both food and beverage showcasing the famous flavours of Arabia, from zaater to rose to pomegranate and sumac. For just AED299 per couple, the affordable pairing-tasting menu includes two starters, two main courses and a sharing dessert, with two beverages per course from the inspiring new cocktail menu.
Epicurious diners will enjoy an intoxicating blend of fragrance and flavour with a set menu offering mezze such as Malouf’s signature Silky Hummus, expertly paired with a crisp and fruity Hibiscus Spritz;an addictive mix of tequila, hibiscus tea, ginger and Arabian honey.The rich and heady Mahanie Sausages are paired with the Domingo cocktail, an award-winning bespoke creation with a rum base, pomegranate molasses, dry apple cider, vanilla and sweet vermouth. Refreshing floral cocktail Oh My L! is a blend of lemon oleo, orange blossom, lychee and sparkling wine and is the perfect complement to Local Yellow Tail Carpaccio – slices of Hamachi marinated in a mix of Syrian spices with eggplant and pine nuts. Main courses of Organic Seabass Sayadeeya, Malouf’s Battenjan – an ultra Instagrammable eggplant parcel and moreish Lamb Kifta and Mushroon on Coals, are paired with a variety of acclaimed Lebanese wines, while Malouf’s signature dessert, the Flower Petal Pavlova is paired with Tin Tin, meaning Fig– a digestif of brandy, sweet wine, sherry and Arabian citrus and fig.
The bar area of Phoenicia is now brought to life with regular DJ’s and world class mixologist Leslie Kuzmenko whose award-winning creations have secured her reputation as one of Dubai’s best female mixologists. A new bar menu at Phoenicia introduces unforgettable bar snacks such as Malouf’s Fatima Fingers stuffed with porcini mushroom and mozzarella cheese and his famed Hazelnut Falafel. The à la carte menu also features new dishes such as the Lebanese style Bouillabaisse of seafood, herb toum sauce and vegetables simmering in a crab broth and Skewered Local Salmon with feta spinach and preserved lemon cream.
